Davis Earns National Player of the Week Honors

Reese's Senior Bowl singles out Mocs defensive linemen after 3.0 sacks against Samford.
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior defensive lineman Keionta Davis earned National Player of the Week Honors from the Reese's Senior Bowl, following an impressive 41-21 win over Samford on Saturday. The Senior Bowl honors student-athletes from the Division I level, FBS or FCS, who had a deserving week of action.
Davis is the only FCS player mentioned in this week's honors. He tied a career-high with 3.0 sacks against the Bulldogs and led Chattanooga's efforts to hold FCS' top offense that had been averaging 56.0 points per game to 21 points.
The Mocs are 4-0 for the first time in 37 years. Davis, a preseason FCS All-American, moved into second place in school history with 25.5 career sacks in a big conference win.
The Mocs are on the road this weekend at ETSU. Seats still remain for the Fan Bus going to Johnson City on Saturday. Cost is $50, which includes the seat on the bus, pregame tailgate and ticket to the game. Fans can also buy just tickets to the tailgate for $10. Details and sign up here.
