Post-Game Quotes at The Citadel
Charleston, S.C. – Feb. 27 – McAlister Field House
Matt McCall, Head Coach
After loss to The Citadel on the road and moving forward.
"We have to get more out of other guys. Especially when you have the opportunity to play. I thought a lot of guys played hard. But evaluating the team right now, we have to get some things corrected. In Asheville, any thing can happen with three games in three days. It's going to be a battle, but we have to get everyone on the same page headed there. We need more production from some guys if we want any chance to win it. We have time to prepare and we'll get prepared. We have to become hungrier and we've been through a lot as a program the last 48 hours, we'll go back and evaluate and get ready for Asheville."
On the deep bench play.
"It's the first time some of these guys have played in a while and had the opportunity to play. Certain guys played really well and I was proud of their effort. I don't think anyone really played well defensively because we gave up too many points.
On game, season and future for Justin Tuoyo
"After a seven-eight hour bus ride, he [
Justin Tuoyo] comes out here and lays it all on the line, like he has done all year. I feel bad the way the regular season ended for him, but I told him in the locker room whatever the next step is for him, I bet it's something really positive and there's no bigger fan of him than me. He put his heart and soul into the game tonight and I'm really proud of him."

Thoughts on gaining momentum for the SoCon Tournament:
"The Tournament is coming up and we can win three in three days, and that is all that really matters. You can gain momentum in practice. You can learn from your mistakes, work hard in practice. We need to really be on top of our stuff and listen to the coaches."
On filling in for Greg Pryor.
"I have been learning from
Greg Pryor the whole year. He is a great guy who is always focused and he is always working hard. I try to learn everything I can from him before he is gone."Â
On passing up open shots.
"I am a pass-first guard. I try to look for my teammates and get them going first. I hit two of them, but I need to continue working on it and get better at shooting."
On the play of Justin Tuoyo.
"It was tough for him. Everybody was surrounding him. Everyone knows what he is capable of, but other guys have to step up, including myself. It is easier said than done, but we have to step up and play a bigger role."
On the Mocs' chances at the SoCon Tournament.
"We beat everyone in the league except ETSU. I feel like anything can happen in three days. Everything is in the past and the future is yet to come."
On looking forward to the experience at the SoCon Tournament.
"I remember watching it on TV last year sitting at home and wishing I was in that position. I saw our guys getting to beat our rival for a championship and it looked like it was fun to be a part of."
