- The Mocs dropped a 70-69 game to VMI in McKenzie Arena tonight … UTC falls to 7-15 overall and 1-8 in SoCon action … VMI improved to 7-13 on the year and 2-7 in league play.

- Mocs led 17-11 halfway through the first half before VMI went on a 21-5 run to take a 32-22 lead with 4:06 left in the first. 

- Keydets led 37-27 with just 1:59 left in the first before UTC scored nine points in the closing seconds to trail 37-36 at the break.

- There were six ties and 14 lead changes in the game … five lead changes in the last five minutes of play.

- Mocs are 42-13 all-time against VMI … 21-4 at Chattanooga.

- The Mocs have lost eight games by single-digit numbers this season.

- Leading scorers Joshua Phillips (7-8) and James Lewis, Jr., (6-6) combined to shoot 13-14 (92.9%) from the field … rest of the team was 11-36 (30.6%).

- Ties for most FGs with a miss this season by a Moc (Phillips at Akron on 11/28).
- Team-high eight rebounds.

Makinde London – Jr.-F
- 12 points and seven boards off the bench.
- Shot 3-10 from the field, 1-6 form three and 5-10 from the FT line.

Joshua Phillips – Sr.-F
- 15 points on 7-8 shooting, 1-1 from the FT line.
- Added five boards.
