GAME NOTES | ABOUT CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL
 
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs are winding down the non-conference portion of the schedule. Just two such contests remain with a quick turnaround involved before the team takes a brief holiday.
 
It starts Thursday afternoon at Jacksonville State before returning to the friendly confines of McKenzie Arena hosting Georgia State on Saturday. The 5-6 Mocs are looking for their first road win while continuing a strong run on their home floor.
 
This is the second game of the season against Jacksonville State. The two enjoyed the first 40 minutes of the first matchup that they decided to play an extra five with the Gamecocks claiming a 77-75 OT win.
 
Taking care of the ball is a focus on the road for the Mocs. Thus far, that's been a constant in the narrow losses. The squad averages 17.6 turnovers per game on the road (13.3 at home) and are coming off a season-high 19 at Tennessee Tech. That number is 18.7 over the last three contests away from McKenzie Arena, all losses coming in the final minutes of the game.
 
A positive is the December play of Makinde London. The junior forward is averaging a double-double so far with 16.3 points, 10.0 boards and 3.0 assists in the four contests with wins over UT Martin and Charlotte and losses at Marshall and Tennessee Tech.

• 14 points and four assists running the point at Tennessee Tech in absence of Rodney Chatman who played just 15 minutes due to foul trouble. 1st Moc to play the full game (40 min) since Ronrico White took the whole 45 in the Jan. 10, 2015 OT win at ETSU, a span of 1,072 days (91 games).
• London leads the league at 5.90 defensive rebounds per game (7.5/Dec. game) which is 100th nationally.
• Freshman forward James Lewis, Jr.'s 15 points and 11 rebounds at Tennessee Tech was the first double-double by a UTC freshman since December 29, 2008 when Chris Early had 11 points and 10 boards against Tennessee Wesleyan. The McKenzie Arena ticket office is closed December 23rd – January 1st with the exception of the dates and times listed below for Mocs basketball games and the Southern Scuffle.  The ticket office resumes normal business hours starting January 3rd.  Normal business hours include Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
