Quotes
Deandra Schirmer, Head Coach
Response after jittery start
You see our response in the second quarter to be able to come out and get a single-digit quarter and respond the way that we've wanted to. I think that there's a lot of things that we need to work on and still fix, but to be able to respond the way that we wanted with some energy and effort and a lot of help from our bench was promising.Â
On how long she thinks it's going to take to figure out what this version of your team is like:
There's a lot of moving pieces that go into that. Health is one of them. I think when you're saying how long it will take; I think our focus is to be at our best come tournament time. This group is going to continue to get to know each other, but I feel like there's things that we've got to shore up right away. The first is turnovers. I think our rebounding is the second thing. The other stuff I think is going to naturally progress.Â
TaTianna Stovall, Forward
On the conversations after that first quarter
We need to pick it up and communicate better and just talk about everything on the court. We know who the shooters are, we know who the drivers are. Coach Schirmer was telling us that we need to do better on knowing who those people are and picking them up in our transitional defense as well.Â
